Track Days Supercars

How to drive fast? (in supercars, round a track)?
Hi all,
I’m off on a driving day this weekend where I’ll be able to drive a Ferrari and an Aston Martin. I got it as a birthday present.
But I’m a bit worried that I’ll just be crap! Has anyone got any tips, or links to websites, on how best to drive fast well?
Obviously it’s easy to just gun the throttle! But I’m interested in doing it right, and getting round the track in a good time (and not binning a £150000 car!)
Thanks
I learned how to drive on my playstation
Really, I had “Gran Turismo 2″ and I had to get a lot of ‘licenses’ in the game, else I couldn’t drive. You had to look at a video of a driver doing a piece of a track, his technique was explained and then you had to do it yourself in a certain time limit. Sometimes I practiced more than an hour on such a track.
Some keys:
corners: go out-in-out
make sure you know which wheels are driven. 4 wheel drive is the easiest, front wheel is pretty easy and rear wheel drive is the hardest. Basically all supercars are rear wheel drive and American supercars are the hardest to drive.
4WD vehicles have a lot of understeer. That means they don’t want to go around corners when you turn the wheel. If you go to fast, the wheels will lose their grip and you will keep on going straight instead of round the corner. Front Wheel Drive vehicles have this too, but less than 4WD.
Rear Wheel Drive vehicles tend to oversteer. Most American cars are RWD. When you go too fast in a corner, your wheels will lose grip and you’ll lose control of the car, turning in circles instead of the direction you want to go.
piece of advice: better too slow than too fast! You can crash on a playstation, but in real life it’s more painful… (physically and financially)
