These might be the words of Oliver Twist, but they also ring true for a wealthy buyer who has ordered 10 Aston Martin One-77 supercars. Some might say it’s excessive, but Aston Martin certainly won’t agree with “what is probably the biggest order in the marque’s history”, reports the Times’ website.

According to TopSpeed.com, “there aren’t a lot of supercars that are capable of standing out in a large supercar rally”, but the One-77 Aston Martin certainly turned a few heads at the new Silverstone racetrack earlier this year.

The wealthy buyer, who remains unnamed, is reported to have placed an order for 10 supercars, each with a price tag of around £1.2 million. According to the Times’ website, the order accounts for 13% of the total production run of the 77 cars that are to be produced, which is perhaps why Aston Martin don’t mind shuffling things around in order to fulfil the demands of the anonymous buyer.

TopSpeed.com have reported that it would be hard to find anything more “pleasantly eye-catching than seeing an Aston Martin One-77 leading the pack” – just like the one that grabbed viewers attention at Silverstone.

This “beastly” supercar has been designed to rival such hypercars as the Bugatti Veyron and the Lamborghini Reventon – “both of which formed a new class of £1m-plus vehicles”, reports TimesOnline.co.uk.

Even though many classic Astons achieved astonishing high speeds in their day, with a top speed of about 220mph and a 0-60mph acceleration time of 3.5 seconds, the new One-77 supercar certainly deserves the title of most extreme Aston to date.

The examples of excessive purchases don’t stop at the unknown buyer who secured 10 shiny new supercars, allegedly another buyer has purchased two One-77 models – “one to drive and one to dismantle and place on the walls as art”, according to FocusGear.com.
