Lamborghini Gallardo Turbo Kit

Lamborghini Baby G

HISTORY

In developing the car, as in evolution, there are winners and losers. Those who saw the prototype of Italdesign Cala were sure that this would be the baby Lamborghini , successor Urracco spiritual, the SIilhouette and the Jalpa. Back in 1994, it looked exactly right. Put it beside the car, which became the heir of that lineage, Luc Donckerwolke Gallardo designed, and it seems loose and exaggerated, a little subtle in detail and the determination of the last century. The Gallardo, all clean lines and geometric precision, still looks fresh and challenging.

It certainly drew some applause when it was premiered at the Geneva Motor Show 2003, offering a squatter, and sharper assume big brother Murciélago. Both models and manual six-speed e-gear coupe were available, both powered by the same 492bhp V10 engine. 2005 saw the launch of the Gallardo SE Callisto with its wheels, black roof and adjustments to the steering gear ratios and, with increased engine power of 520bhp. A model Nera special edition, of which 184 units were produced, was introduced in early 2006.

2006 was a pivotal year in the title = "sell my lamborghini"> Garcia 's development. Few thought that the motor, gears and directional changes lavished the SE does not make it to the 'stock' and so Gallardo model The car is MY2006. Despite looking very similar to the previous year's car, this model is transformed into an angrier, more efficient sports cars. levels equipment is improved and a Spider convertible model was released. The following year saw the release of the hardcore Superleggera coupe, a model of lower volume was 100 kg more lighter than the Gallardo coupe and was aimed at wealthy customers track days.

What you get

The shape of the Gallardo's work like a charm. Although it shares many signs with his style big brother, the Murciélago , The Gallardo is surprisingly small and a little more aggressive with its chopped-off angles. Luc Donkerwolke, the man responsible for writing the two cars, again has been highlighted. Clearly a Lamborghini Gallardo detailing not enough to distance himself from the bat. Park the two side by side and you'll appreciate differences but such is the success of the Gallardos lines that the last bat has adopted a sharper, Gallardo-looking front end.

The Spyder is an interesting piece of equipment. Gallardo chassis was designed from the outset with a convertible car in mind and therefore has an incredible resistance to twisting. Even with the cut metal roof, the Gallardo is still a good deal stiffer than many supercar coupes. Only a very small amount of strengthening work was necessary, with some reinforcements added rails.

Unlike the Murcielago Roadster, which has a convertible devilishly complicated construction than would a final settlement of Krypton Factor, Gallardo shows significant progress with an electrically folding hood mechanism operated by a couple of buttons in the center the dashboard. Twenty seconds later, you're ready to go, the roof is fairly tight and in place or that are secreted under the hood completely out hazard. The rear screen moves automatically while the hood is raised or lowered and defaults to an elevated position. Unlike its great rival, Ferrari F430 Spider, the Lamborghini really looks very smart with the roof closed, angular design gives it a much better resolved profile than the somewhat awkward-looking Ferrari.

If the final performance is your goal, look no further than the Gallardo Superleggera. Pirelli P-Zero Corsa, seat belts optional four points and carbon ceramic brakes signal your intention. The key change was the removal of a little over 100 kg of dry weight of the car that was reduced to 1,330 kg largely through extensive use carbon fiber. The biggest change in style, aside from the CF splitter and diffuser assembly was forged alloy wheels with 19 inch wheel nuts titanium shave an additional few grams. There is also a Superleggera side decal.

WHAT YOU PAY

The first Gallardos can find everything £ 75,000, but you have to add £ 2,500 for the e-gear sequential manual gearbox, should you so desire. However, you need £ 94,000 a year for the model 06 manual cars. Spyders Gallardo Superleggera is still serious in exchange for cash and smart buyers will wait a while until the market cools.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

The high price point to keep in mind with a Gallardo is the clutch. The first cars arrived with a clutch plate of a material not unlike reports Swiss cheese and there were some cars with a minimum of 1,500 miles on the clock in their third clutch. Naturally, this would depend on the driver's ability or lack it, and in 2005 the clutch became a strong element. residual values tend to be a strong dip after two years due to the fact that 24 month guarantee was not originally Lamborghini owners expandable and many took this as an opportunity to download and keep going. Look for scratches to the front valance caused by parking and curb ramps also damage to alloy wheels. The interiors tend to be strong and the main Audi mechanics are also derived difficult. Some have complained about the resistance of the paint on the front of their vehicles and the Gallardo seems very prone to stone chipping. Meticulous owners apply 3M or similar protective films.

SPARE PARTS

(Roughly based on a 2005 Gallardo coupe) Spares are predictably expensive. The Pirelli P-Zero tires retail at about £ 180 a pair of suede boots and £ 280 for the rear (mounted and balanced), which means that a new set of rubber will not leave much change from £ 1,000. Servicing is every 7,500 miles and a normal server is about 1100 pounds with larger ones £ 2,200. Lamborghini dealers have really got their act together in recent years and unlike the old days, do not sting with hidden costs.

ON THE ROAD

Against the Clock, the latest Gallardo will register a sprint to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and keep going to 196 mph. The electronic four-wheel drive wheels are not as smart as a 911 Turbo with respect to the intensification of the clean line, but rises at higher speeds and do not begrudge that the Gallardo behaving for the most part like a traditional rear driver. Only when you're really pushing scabby tarmac can feel the front tires for biting grip. What impresses most is the control of the body. Unit of the same section of road in a Porsche 911 or even a Ferrari F430 and there would be much more roll squat and dive. Lamborghini flat planes, almost absorbed into the ground, their heavy 19-inch tires and square stance giving the driver almost unassailable confidence levels.

The Superleggera takes things to another level. The car is definitely stronger than a standard Gallardo but the performance differences are not much in the paper: same top speed and torque figure, 0.2s down the sprint to 100 kmh (now 3.8s) and 10bhp added to the output. On the track, the situation is different with the offer Superleggera grip and body control, in large part to the choice of tires. Snappy at the limit, demands respect, but enormously capable, well-surfaced, asphalt dry at least. Needless to say, offers savage blow of the other corners.

GLOBAL

Before the advent of the Gallardo, the dream ticket has always been a Italian supercar with German quality development. Now that such a thing exists, it is strange that an attack to complain about an erosion of values of the Lamborghini brand. The high command in Sant'Agata sustain the belief that critics complain all you can taste the books clearly demonstrate that this is a winning formula. Used Gallardos are usually resistant. Look for clutch repairs and improvements on the button not cut corners and must not go far wrong.
