Car World Award 2011 winners

Nominees World Car awards were announced at the Geneva International Motor Show. The three finalists each list is a summary of the seventh edition of the awards in four categories – World Car of the Year, World Performance Car, World Green Car and World Car Design year. The winners of these categories were announced at the ongoing New York International Auto Show. Here is the list of winners in each category: 2011 World Car Year: Nissan Leaf – The car was nominated for the World Car of the Year Award at the Geneva Motor Show recently and were announced the winners of the Auto Show during New York. Best in Class Above Leaf Nissan has qualified for the environment because of its zero tailpipe emissions. The title = "Nissan Leaf"> Nissan Leaf has 25kWh lithium-ion and according to Nissan 240-volt household 13 takes 11 hours to charge the car, while at 400 volts, 50 kW load time is reduced to about eight hours. Leaf has a good interior including a white board and in the absence of a traditional engine of the blade has absolutely no noise in the cabin. The 458 replaced the F430 Italy Fiorano, the car is powered by a V8 engine capable of generating 570 horsepower and rhythms hands metric competition in handling and appearance. The car is now available in India. 2011 World Design Car of the Year: Aston Martin Rapide – The car beat 51 contenders to win the design award this year motorsport. The car is now available in the India and comes with a 6-liter V12 engine capable of producing 469bhp at 6000rpm and torque 61.24kgm. The car does the sprint in 4.9sec 0 to100kph and touches a top speed of 296kph. It has a VH aluminum (horizontal: vertical) body structure and boasts large 20-inch wheels. 2011 World Green Car: Chevrolet Volt – the car has a rating of EPA of 93 mpg when running on electric power only, and 37 miles per gallon, while gasoline in your engine. Car electric only range printed on tag is 35 miles. This is a four passenger, four-door hatchback which is operated by electricity from a battery on-board gasoline engine or approaching eight hours to charge the normal flow of 120V. With a 240V point the battery can be charged in three hours. The manufacturer has not compromised in any security measure and Volt will be loaded with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) system, traction control, antiskid system and airbags for both front and side curtain.
